“Whatever little you have, share it with others” Dr Henry Langazye Kaluba.

Using this quote as your inspiration, share what you have with others and make a donation.  Donations help us in our commitment to the advancement of quality education and training in Zambia.  There are several ways that employees are able to donate to the work of the Dr Henry Langazye Kaluba Educational Trust.

Payroll Giving – Give As You Earn

If you are a UK taxpayer you can give directly from your pre-tax salary, so that money that would normally be paid to the taxman comes directly to the DHLK Educational Trust instead.

Its a win, win situation since the DHLK Educational Trust benefits because payroll giving will provide us with a regular income and because it is automated, it cuts down our administration costs, meaning that more of your money goes directly to our great work and as an employee you benefit because you don’t pay any tax on the donations you make.  If you are a basic rate taxpayer, a gift of £5 actually costs you only £4 and if you are a higher rate taxpayer, a gift costing you £6 is worth £10 to the charity.

In order to participate in Payroll Giving, your employer needs to be running the scheme.  If your employer does not run a scheme, we can help them to set, it up to do this please get in contact with us.  Your employers can also get more information from the HMRC website.

Matched Giving

As a company a practical way to encourage your employees to donate is to match fund their efforts and reward them for their generosity.  It boosts morale and encourages team building.  Another benefit to you is a reduced tax bill, you don’t have to pay Corporation Tax on the money you use to match employee giving.
